Topic: Capitalism. The talk will take a critical look at the foundations, nature and workings of capitalism, investigating where it has failed us and what a Biblically informed way forward might look like.
Speaker: Dr Michael Schluter, an economist, author and social entrepreneur. He is the Chief Executive of Relationships Global, promoting the understanding of relational issues in areas such as business, family, finance, education, healthcare and justice. Also, Michael has launched several charities and gained public recognition for his work when Queen Elizabeth II awarded him a CBE in 2009.

It is with gratitude to God that we, as members of the Emmanuel Baptist Church, Johannesburg, can testify to the fact that the Church Plant in Bloemfontein has commenced. Richard Raven and his family moved to Bloemfontein in October 2011 and immediately commenced with an outreach Bible Study on a Wednesday evening. He also started a Prayer Meeting on Sunday evenings with a time of Bible study.

Once again there has been a prolonged silence from our end. The Lord has sustained us by His grace and much has happened since our previous newsletter in April.

Since we (Emmanuel Baptist Church – Florida Park, Roodepoort, South Africa) last communicated with the Sola 5 Association of Churches, we have continued to experience God’s wonderful goodness to us as a local Church, and are overwhelmed by His faithfulness.
