Moving to Zambia!

Sovereign Grace Theological Seminary's move to Zambia is progressing well, and is at an advanced stage!
The Sola 5 churches in Lusaka have taken full responsibility for the running of the Seminary, and in March appointed a Board of Directors (see next article in this newsletter).

I have travelled to Lusaka three times so far this year to meet with the Board, to prepare for the move to Lusaka, and to make plans for the ongoing ministry of the Seminary.

The Board—and especially the Secretary, Mr Nchima Nchito—has been hard at work laying the legal foundations for SGTS to operate in Lusaka. We were especially blessed to hear that SGTS was registered as a “Company Limited by Guarantee” (i.e. a non-profit company) in Zambia on 22 July. This registration makes it possible to apply for a work permit for me, and for us to operate as a formal educational institution in Zambia.

The work permit application is currently in progress, and Col. Moses Phiri is coordinating the practical arrangements for our move to Zambia. As you can imagine, there is much to be done, and we would greatly value your praying with us for the Lord's continued guidance and blessing. In particular, we would value your prayers for the following:
  • Pray for Mr Nchima Nchito as he attends to the work permit application. Pray also for the official government processes, that there will be no impediments in the granting of the work permit.
  • Pray for Col Moses Phiri and all the practical arrangements, especially accommodation in Zambia and the transportation of our household goods to Zambia.
  • Pray that the Lord will provide suitable tenants for our house in Pretoria.
We do not yet have a final date for moving to Zambia, but we are working towards the end of August.

Meet the SGTS Board

For as in one body we have many members, and the members do not all have the same function, so we, though many, are one body in Christ, and individually members one of another. Having gifts that differ according to the grace given to us, let us use them: if prophecy, in proportion to our faith; if service, in our serving; the one who teaches, in his teaching; the one who exhorts, in his exhortation; the one who contributes, in generosity; the one who leads, with zeal; the one who does acts of mercy, with cheerfulness. (Rom 12:4-8; ESV)

One of the genuinely supernatural aspects of the body of Christ is the way the Lord Jesus Himself unites different people, endowing them with various gifts of grace, so that they will together be able to accomplish His purposes.  It is a great privilege to see how He is doing this in the Board of SGTS.  The Sola 5 churches in Lusaka have appointed the following seven brothers to administer SGTS on their behalf.  Please pray for each of these brothers as they serve the wider body of Christ with the particular gifts that the Lord has given each of them.
